The Needed "New Normal": Transformational Changes to Respond to the Current Environmental and Climate Crisis
This presentation will include different reasons why we must all promote a "New Normal" with transformational changes towards Regenerative Development in our homes, neighborhoods, cities, provinces, countries, subregions, regions and ALL over the Planet, to ensure survival of our children, our grandchildren, and millions of beings of other species that coexist with us on Planet Earth.
We will explain how the vicious cycle of accelerated production at all costs, in response to excessive consumerism that encourages disposable products with the most sophisticated marketing technologies, backed by perverse incentives and bombarded by neuromarketing, have led us since the 1970s to the emergence and growth of the overdraft of the Earth by humans. How this has forced scientists to launch predictions of the depletion of non-renewable natural resources and even the depletion of renewable resources, and to issue a declaration of a global environmental emergency backed by more than 11,000 scientists on the planet, which is confirmed by the Red and yellow signs of several of the Planetary Boundaries that alert us that the viability for life on Earth is at risk.
We will detail how and who causes global warming, which in turn causes climate change, its consequences, its solutions, but also the importance of adaptation plans to it, because we cannot avoid climate change, but we can reduce it. its magnitude. We will share how Regenerative Development, supported by a Green Decade of transformative efforts, with excellent coordination and exchange of experiences, commitment, adequate economic signals that eliminate perverse price distortions, the use of available technologies, and changing our individual, business accounting systems. , municipal, national, subregional and global, incorporating Natural Capital, Human/Social Capital, and Economic Capital.
