Why we need to change the way we communicate the Climate Crisis

I’m Felicity, a recent UCLA Communication studies graduate and fellow environmental activist.

Climate Change is one of the most defining issues of our time, yet, we have failed to communicate the reality of the crisis and have created a perception that it is a distant and abstract threat.
For many of us it has been separated from our day to day lives and seems unrelatable leading us to feel it is not urgent enough or will not impact us as individuals personally.
The media has shown scary scientific projections and used fear inducing techniques but this does not address the personal experiences of climate change or call for action.
We need to create Hope, as it is an incredibly powerful emotion and can transform our fear into something productive.

It’s time to change the way we communicate about the climate crisis 🌎
