Climate Change is Threatening Our Economy; National Defense; Health and Food and Water Supply, but We have Solutions!
This October, join with others from around the world who will be gathering to learn, discuss and take action to address the many urgent, intersecting issues impacted by the growing climate crisis.
“24 Hours of Reality” is an international event organized by the Climate Reality Project and open to anyone interested in discovering how they can make a difference on this important issue that touches almost every part of our lives – the economy, jobs, healthcare, biodiversity, food and water, social justice, national security and more. For 24 straight hours, activists across the planet will lead digital presentations and discussions highlighting what we can do to confront these challenges and together build the future we want.
Today we’re at an inflection point. COVID-19, the climate crisis, and a global reckoning on racial justice have forced us to rethink normal and focus on what we want our futures and the futures of our children to be. Will we create a sustainable balance with each other and the earth and pass down a healthy, vibrant planet to future generations? Or will we double down on extractive industries and unchecked consumerism that leave a questionable future for those who come after us?
On October 10th at 4:00 p.m. and October 11th at 2:00 p.m., Ariel Hoover and Bob Moore, trained Climate Reality Leadership Corps members, invite you to join them via Zoom for a presentation and discussion. Ariel and Bob live in Sanibel, Florida where they have co-founded the Lee County Chapter of Climate Reality. Ariel is an educator recently retired from the public schools and as a part-time instructor in special programs at Tufts University. Bob is Senior Vice President of Development and Training for a Boston-based health and wellness company.
Climate Reality will plant a tree for each person who attends, and you get to choose where!
To receive the Zoom link, RSVP to climatereality.leecountychapter@gmail.com and indicate which of the two presentations you plan to attend. Participation is free.
